Ernst & Young, the NASDAQ Stock Market, CNN Financial News, and USA Today sponsored the event.

The award is given each year to entrepreneurs judged as exceptional for their extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Industries covered by the award range from the traditional to the cutting edge. Winners are selected by elite, blue-ribbon panels of judges composed of community business and civic leaders, academicians, as well as prior year award winners.

Mr. Kim and Mr. Rapoza are in good company. Before they were household names, Scott McNealy of Sun Microsystems, Steve Case of America Online, and Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee - to name a few - were honored with the award as well.
