Honolulu, HI June 27, 2001 Inovaware,
a leading supplier of billing and customer care software
to providers of next-generation Internet service and
communication companies, today announced that it has
integrated its PRISM billing and customer care
platform with Microsoft's (NASDAQ: MSFT) Exchange
2000 Server platform. PRISM is the
only solution that provides provisioning support for
Exchange, in addition to billing and customer care.
PRISM will enable Application Service Providers (ASPs)
and hosting companies offering Exchange 2000 to develop
profitable pricing structures, and automate the entire
customer lifecycle, including customer registration,
service provisioning, recurring billing, customer
care, and trouble management. By integrating
customer and revenue management with a complete service
delivery framework, PRISM minimizes the time needed
to roll out services and reduces implementation costs.
The solution's real-time rating engine enables companies
to implement a wide variety of pricing models, from
basic flat-fees to complex usage-based billing with
service-level agreements. PRISM's unique server control
module allows for real-time automated provisioning
of Exchange 2000, with respect to individual users.
"Exchange 2000 has the corporate demand and
wide applicability to be a killer hosted application
for years to come," said Inovaware CEO Marc Rapoza.
"PRISM enables the ASP and hosting community to accelerate
deployment of Exchange 2000 solutions, and profitably
manage customers while enhancing the whole user experience."
According to ASP Quarterly Tracker, hosted
email and messaging applications comprised the majority
of services delivered by ASPs in 2000. The Radicati
Group projects this figure to grow from approximately
100 million outsourced paid mailboxes in 2000 to approximately
850 million in 2004. Resulting from large customer
bases and a competitive marketplace, success of ASPs
offering Exchange 2000 and other communications applications
depends largely on their customer management efficiency,
and the flexibility of their pricing, billing and
customer care. Inovaware's infrastructure
promotes tight integration of the operating support
system (OSS) environment and the application platform,
which facilitates rapid deployment of new services
and pricing plans, promotes high-levels of customer
support, and automates complex processes such as provisioning,
revenue realization and trouble ticket management.

OSS Working Group, and the Microsoft Windows Telecom
