of an enhanced Software Development Kit (SDK) and
new interfaces for its PRISM(TM) platform.
The emergence of new and more sophisticated communication
services such as location-based services, wireless
content, online gaming and others, is forcing service
providers to find new ways to price their offerings
beyond traditional parameters. With its service-agnostic
rating engine, PRISM already supports a variety of
usage metrics such as time, bandwidth, disk space,
per packet etc. To accelerate support of new and custom
usage parameters, the enhanced PRISM SDK for usage
import will permit customers and systems integrators
to rapidly create usage import modules on their own.
Primary benefits include fast time-to-market for innovative
pricing models, and self-sufficiency as SDK-created
modules effectively behave as an out-of-the-box PRISM
module.
With the release of its new Simple Object Access
Protocol (SOAP) and XML-based API, Inovaware is striving
to ensure that PRISM can more effectively integrate
with various legacy applications and in-house systems.
Traditionally, service providers have had difficulty
selecting applications that can effectively "talk"
to each other because those systems do not conform
to a single set of standards. Lengthy and costly customization
processes are usually required, or entirely new applications
need to be built.
The new API alleviates integration headaches and
enables customers to leverage their investment in
other applications by exposing PRISM's business logic
within a SOAP/XML framework. This results in better
and faster integration, as well as substantial cost
savings for the customer.
