Promotions - Promotion / Service Type Map

After you've created your promotions, the next step is to map them to specific service types. If you haven't configured any service types, you should do so now: Configure Service Types.

The mapping of service types to promotions is how the system determines what services are available to what customers (depending on what Market Area they belong to). If you do not map any services to promotions, no services will be available to order. To map promotions to service types, complete the Promotions >> Promotion/Service Type Map configuration menu.

An explanation of each field follows:

·   Promotion ID - Specifies the promotion to which you want to map the service type. Select the appropriate Promotion from the drop-down list.

·   Service Type - The Service Type that is being mapped to a promotion. Select the appropriate Service Type from the drop-down list.

·   Service Period - This field is not currently in use -- ignore.

·   Description - This field is optional and if specified overrides the description for the service type.

Based on our example of promotion/service type mapping, the "Business" promotion would be eligible for the "Bus_Pack" service type. This service type is associated with a package. Business customers would also be eligible for Flat and Hourly services which can be specially priced. Can you identify what service types would be available if a customer had access to the "Resident" promotion?
