Promotions - Promotions

Promotions must be configured in order to map Market Areas.

shortcut.gif Go to Market Area/Promotion Mapping configuration.

Promotions are used to group the services you offer so that they can be made available to certain market areas. If you do not plan to specialize your services, but plan to offer all services to all customers, you should configure a single, default promotion to cover all services. At least one promotion must be configured. Complete the Promotions >> Promotions configuration menu to create your promotions.

An explanation of each setting follows:

·   Promotion ID - ID used to refer to the promotion.

·   Promotion Type - Use "0" if no offer code is needed to access the promotion. Use "1" if an offer code is required. If you enter "1" in this field, you must remember to configure an offer code in the Auto Subscription configuration folder.

·   Free Interval - This field is used by special service types, that when mapped to a promotion with a Free Interval/Free Interval Unit configuration will offer a period of free service. These special service types must have the suffix "FREE" in its name. See an example of using Free Interval promotions.

·   Free Interval Unit - Used in conjunction with the Free Interval setting to determine a period of free service.

·   Start Date - The first date upon which the promotion is available. This field is required.

·   End Date - The last date upon which the promotion is available. Leave blank if the promotion has no expiration date.

·   Description - Describes the promotion.

·   Notes - Optional notes about the promotion.

Promotions can also be used to create package pricing. In this setup, a promotion is used to distinguish services that are ordered individually from those that are ordered as part of a package. See an example of using promotions to create package pricing.
